Our Mission

Greening Projects focuses on creating green spaces in underserved communities, such as:

  • Urban Gardens & Farms: Converting neglected lands into productive or recreational spaces.

  • Streetscape Improvements: Transforming “concrete corridors,” bare sidewalks, and forgotten streets into vibrant paths.

  • Parklets & Medians: Managing complex neighborhood projects like the Carolina Green Space in Potrero Hill, one of the largest vegetated median islands in the city.

  • Stormwater Management: Designing “green infrastructure” (like bioswales) to reduce flooding and improve water quality.

Impact Goals

Our projects are designed to address specific urban challenges:

  • Environmental: Reducing the “heat island” effect, mitigating air pollution, and decreasing stormwater runoff.

  • Social: Enhancing mental and physical well-being by providing an accessible nature and increasing social cohesion within neighborhoods.

  • Resilience: Helping the city adapt to climate change through increased tree canopy and biodiversity.
