Comerford Greenway

Comerford Street (colloquially known as an alley) is a one-block road-pedway between the 1400 block of Sanchez Street (Slow Sanchez Street) & the 1500 block of Church Street. Comerford Greenway’s mission is to beautify the alley, build neighborhood pride, and make it inviting to pedestrians by cleaning it, planting native plants/removing concrete, installing lighting, and adding murals. The group currently hosts weekly social gatherings and annual block parties!

Our community of neighbors whose homes are adjacent to Comerford is committed to Greening Comerford to enhance the beauty and utility of Comerford Street, making it an inviting green walkway for dog walkers, parents with children, and folks who want to get away from city traffic. Streetscape, the visual appearance of a street, is a vital part of the public realm and impacts the community’s identity, health, and social cohesion.
