January 22, 2024: Sandis surveyed the site to develop boundary and topographic plans, which should be available in CAD format by mid-February. At that point, Terrain Studio will start its preliminary landscape design.

An update from Richard –

Hi neighbors,

The weather on Sunday looks nice for a clean-up and prep for the work on the Good Prospect Community Garden Expansion and Improvement Neighborhood Group (GPCG-NG). We are seeking volunteers to help work on cleaning up the eastern side of the steps near the retaining wall along Cortland. The work will be part of the Community Challenge Grant to improve the steps. We need people to turn out to get community credit for the work.

Please note that a temporary art mural is being placed on the western side of the retaining wall facing Cortland. This is not part of the GPCG Neighborhood Group Community Challenge Grant. This temporary art project was provided by a grant to the Bernal Business and Arts Alliance by Avenue Greenlight. They also provided festive lighting along the business corridor on Cortland. I believe the artist’s name is Marco Razo. Thanks to all who are helping with the installation, Laurie Kanes, and the BBAA, who applied for the grant.

The Sandis Land Surveyors were at work on the Prospect Steps yesterday. Attached is a photo. You may have noticed them. The survey is needed to prepare for the landscape design, which we hope to complete this winter. Thanks to Jorge Lozano-Romero for coordinating the survey.

Please share this message with neighbors interested in improving the Prospect Steps. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
