DESCRIPTION:Experience Culinary Delights at Seafood Station on Cortland Avenue: Supporting Community Green Spaces \nOn the vibrant evening of March 20th\, Seafood Station on Cortland Avenue is not just serving up its exquisite array of seafood delights; it’s becoming a beacon of community support and transformation. By generously pledging a portion of its net income\, Seafood Station is contributing to the blossoming of the Ogden Avenue Gardens project\, a heartwarming initiative to revive the 400 block of Ogden Avenue into a picturesque haven for the community. \nA Night to Remember: Dine and Contribute \nFrom 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM\, patrons can indulge in the finest seafood selections while actively contributing to a noble cause. Located at 803 Cortland Ave.\, San Francisco\, CA 94110\, Seafood Station promises an unforgettable dining experience that satisfies the palate and the heart equally. \n\nDine on Cortland \n\nTransforming Spaces\, Fostering Community \nThe Ogden Avenue Gardens project is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together for a common purpose. SUMMARY:Treat Avenue Greenspace Activation
DESCRIPTION:SFMTA Street Closure Application \nPurpose of the Event(s): \nExtensive long-term interest is turning the reference street into a green\, open space. To that end\, Greening Projects (a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization) applied for and received a mini-grant from “Into the Streets” to popularize the proposed plan and help people visualize the proposed future green space. To that end\, a collaboration of people is working to develop these events and invite the community to provide input. \nThe event will entail the following: \n\nBlock the street at either end\, as shown on the attached site plan.\nThe street will be blocked\, in part\, with movable wooden planters\, which will help provide some of the “greening” efforts we are promoting.\nWe will provide information tables\, as well as activities for children\, such as face painting\, coloring\, and some arts and crafts\, which will reflect the following holiday cultures:\n\nSince the first event is on St. Patrick’s Day\, we want to include Irish culture in the activities.\nSince March 12 is the Mexica New Year\, we also want to include this holiday\, which celebrates indigenous and Latinx cultures.\n\n\nThere will be patio-style tables and chairs\, which will help people see the potential of turning this section of Treat Avenue into a green space.\nWe will also provide a chart and comment slips\, which people will use to provide input regarding what they want to see on-site if the street is turned into a public space.\nWe are also working with Latina Mission Moms on this event since they promote such space-making and opportunities for places to gather outside.\nWe have been in discussions with city agencies regarding the proposed future street-to-park conversion:\n\nJimmer Cassiol\, DPW\nPatrick Race\, Planning Department – Patrick expressed the desire to participate in this application and help facilitate the process.\n\nrace@sfgov.org\nDirect No. 628-652-7461\n\n\nJen Ferrigno\, District 9 legislative aide\n\n\nInput from the March 17 event will be used by Terrain Studio\, landscape architects\, to produce a site plan and rendering of what the future park conversion might look like\nThe May 18\, 2024\, event will be similar to the March 17 event\, but with the addition of presenting the landscape architects’ plans and renderings to the community\, which will help to confirm what people would like to have on the site\, as well as to submit to public agencies for the potential project.\n\n  \nTreat Avenue Greenspace Activation\nGreening ProjectsGreening Projects is a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on transforming urban environments into vibrant\, sustainable community spaces.
