DESCRIPTION:August Ridge Lane Workday\nPlease join us for the next Ridge Lane clean-up day at the top of Caine on Sunday\, August 23\, from 10 AM – 12 PM. \nLet’s review the gardening reset that was recently done\, and discuss next steps to ensure we take advantage of this before it becomes unwieldy again. \nSnacks and Drinks will be provided\, so come by and work up an appetite. \nWhat is Ridge Lane\nRidge Lane is a city-owned street that runs from Josiah/Howth Avenue to San Jose. Bordering the neighborhood once known as Columbia Heights\, the path has been neglected and needs transformation so neighbors can use the space and navigate safely. \nWhat is Ridge Lane Neighbors?\nRidge Lane Neighbors (RLN) was formed in 2013 by a group of Ingleside Residents who came together to transform Ridge Lane into the beautiful walkway our neighborhood deserves. We consider Ridge Lane a neighborhood treasure that some of us live on directly\, and use daily to get to work\, walk the dog\, or stroll to admire the views of the Bay and San Bruno Mountain. \nVoted as SF Park Alliance’s “2017 Volunteers of the year\,” RLN has mobilized action on the lane and has seen the successful transformation of Parcel 1 (from Josiah/Howth Avenues to Margaret/Louisberg Avenues) and Parcel 4 (connecting Caine Avenue to San Miguel Avenue). Work on Parcels 2 and 3 (connecting Margaret/Louisberg Avenues to Caine Avenue) is in progress\, and the group continues to work toward transforming the lane into a beautiful\, safe path that can be enjoyed by the neighborhood. \nGreening ProjectsGreening Projects is a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on transforming urban environments into vibrant\, sustainable community spaces. By converting underutilized urban land into public parks\, community gardens\, and native habitat corridors\, the organization works to enhance local biodiversity and climate equity. \nThrough collaborative efforts with community members and donors\, Greening Projects aims to create lasting\, multi-generational legacies of environmental health and beauty.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Tompkins Stairway Garden on the 1st Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to engage in rewarding activities such as weeding\, pruning\, and litter picking\, and help maintain this quaint green space in our beloved Bernal neighborhood! \nIf you often use these stairs to travel to or from the Alemany Farmers Market\, this is the perfect opportunity to help preserve their beauty. \nWe will provide work gloves and the necessary tools for the tasks at hand. Moreover\, experts from the U.C. Master Gardener program will impart knowledge on plant care. For safety\, we recommend wearing long-sleeved tops\, long pants\, and sturdy shoes. Don’t forget to bring water to keep yourself hydrated. \nLocation: At the junction of Tompkins Avenue and Nevada Street\, right at the top of the stairs. Join us and make a difference! \n\nOnce a trash-covered hillside\, San Francisco’s Tompkins Stairway Garden is a safe and welcoming street park featuring a drought-tolerant garden in year-round bloom and a colorful tiled stairway.
